ROAS Target will be upgraded to Auto Bidding (GMV Max) in Q3 2024. During this upgrade, Sellers will be required to provide consent for Shopee to help automatically upgrade and enhance your existing ROAS Target campaign to an Auto Bidding (GMV Max) campaign.

On the date of upgrading, Sellers will see a pop-up prompt upon logging in to Shopee Ads on Seller Center PC or via My Shops on Shopee APP. Sellers will be able to agree to the automatic upgrade via the prompts on Seller Center PC, while prompts on APP will serve as a reminder for Sellers to opt-in during the opt-in period.
Agreeing to this upgrade will allow Shopee to help automatically enhance your existing Target ROAS campaigns with GMV Max, allowing access to broader traffic. If Sellers do not opt in for the upgrade, you will still receive the Auto Bidding (GMV Max) feature on the targeted Upgrade Date. However, your existing ROAS Target campaign will stop running. Sellers will need to manually review all affected campaigns and convert them to the chosen product manually.
Before the Date of Upgrade, Sellers will see a pop-up prompt on Shopee Ads that informs you of the upcoming Upgrade. Sellers may click on “Agree to Upgrade” on the pop-up to opt-in automatically.
[SCENARIO 1]
Once the Seller agrees to the auto Upgrade, all ROAS Target campaigns will end on the Date of Upgrade and a GMV Max campaign will be created in its place with the same campaign setting.
If Shopee does not receive your confirmation on the automatic upgrade 2 days before the Upgrade Date, Sellers will see a pop-up prompt on Seller Center PC to remind them of the deadline.
On the date of Upgrading, all existing ROAS Target campaigns will be stopped automatically regardless of your opt-in selection within Part 1. These campaigns cannot be restarted or edited as the ROAS Target feature will be deprecated.
[SCENARIO 2]
For Sellers that did not agree to the upgrade and have only 1 ROAS Target campaign per Product, Shopee will help to automatically upgrade the ROAS Target campaign into an Auto Bidding (GMV Max) campaign that inherits the intended campaign settings.
[SCENARIO 3]
For Sellers that did not agree to the upgrade and have multiple campaigns per Product (including at least 1 ROAS Target campaign), all pre-existing ROAS Target campaigns will be stopped. This will be indicated with an “ENDED” status and the campaigns will not be editable.
Upon your first login after the upgrade, you will see a confirmation of your upgrade to the GMV Max feature via a pop-up prompt on Shopee Ads.
If you fall into Scenario 1 or 2, you will not need to review any affected campaigns and may proceed directly to the Listing section to review all newly created GMV Max campaigns or access your past ROAS Target campaigns.
If you fall into Scenario 3, Shopee will show a pop-up prompt that indicates the total number of affected campaigns that will require your manual confirmation to be upgraded. Sellers may click on the “Select Ads” button to review the specific list of impacted campaigns that are eligible for the GMV Max Upgrade. At this stage, Sellers will be able to migrate selective ads or bulk upgrade selected campaigns to GMV Max via the following methods:
Upgrade Ads via Pop-up on Upgrade Date
Upgrade via ‘Review Ads’ button on the Recommendations Card
Upgrade via Ads Listing Page
Upgrade via Ads Detail Page
This depends on whether you have agreed to allow Shopee to facilitate the automatic upgrade during the Pre-upgrade Period, and whether there are multiple Ads associated with the impacted Product.
Your ROAS Target campaigns will be stopped on the Date of Upgrade and cannot be restarted. However, Sellers can still access the performance and campaign details of their past ROAS Target campaigns within the Shopee Ads Homepage > Ads Listing Page.
