Shop Search Ads Feature Guidelines

Bid for top keywords and showcase your shop logo and tagline at the top of the search result page.


Shop Search Ads is currently available to Mall Sellers, Preferred Sellers, and sellers with a good track record in sales & ratings.


How Does Shop Search Ads look?

Shop Search Ads now allow sellers to bid for top keywords and showcase their shop at the top of the search result page. After clicking, buyers will be redirected to the shop's main page or product collection page after clicking the ad.






Note: Ad Ranking of Shop Search Ads will depend on relevance score and bidding price


The new Shop Search Ads feature now allows sellers to customize the following to increase click rate for their shops


  1. Shop Logo
  2. Tagline


Guidelines for Shop Search Ads Components 


1. Shop Logo

  1. Usage of Shop Search ads logo:

The Shop Search ads Logo of any shop should follow three key principles:


1. Must not contain Shopee images (including logo, mascot, marketing content etc.)

2. Must not mislead users to think shop is affiliated with Shopee

3. Must not mislead users to think shop is endorsed by Shopee


2. Tagline

  1. Format requirement
  2. The first letter of the tagline must be capitalized
  3. ALL CAPS or CaMeL CaSe is not allowed
  4. Exception: capitalized brand names, common abbreviations
  5.  E.g: MANGO, DIY
  6. No emoticons or special symbols allowed 
  7. E.g: }, ~, ^, {, <, *, @, ;, >
  8. Do not use multiple exclamation marks or hashtags consecutively
  9. E.g: Sale now!!!; ##Sale
  10. Use correct grammar and full sentences

Exception: capitalized brand names, common abbreviations, e.g MANGO, DIY


  1. Content requirement
  2. Must be suitable for general audience
  3. Content must accurately reflect the landing page
  4. Must be written in the same language as the Shopee site on which it's displayed
  5. Avoid unsubstantiated claims 
  6. E.g: "rated best", "clinically proven", "top-selling", "see effect within 3 days"
  7. Subjective marketing claims are allowed,
  8. E.g: "Customers love our XXX", "Take back beautiful moist skin with XXX"
  9. For promotional or pricing claims the period of promotion and extent of promotion must be clearly stated
  10. E.g: claims of "year-round sale" or "Lowest Price Guaranteed" will be rejected. 
  11. Avoid clickbait or language that pressures shoppers into taking action 
  12. Avoid putting links to external sites or seller contact information


Unsubstantiated Claims: Avoid unsubstantiated claims, or claims that imply objective measurements have taken place

Note: Some cases may be evaluated on a case-by-case basis, provided the shop provides the relevant supporting data which is deemed to be a fair study. 


Clickbait: Avoid clickbait or language that pressures shoppers into taking action 


Promotional Messaging: For promotional or pricing claims, state clearly period of promotion and extent of promotion

Say clearly if the discount varies across products, e.g "Up to 50% off!"


External Links: Avoid putting links to external sites or seller contact information


  1. Prohibited Content
  2. Content that promotes anti-social behavior, vandalism, or damaging public/private property
  3. Content that promotes adult products, except for those that deal with planned parenthood or contraception
  4. Content that includes hate speech or promotions of violence/discrimination against any demographic group based on their race, color, national origin, religion, disability, sex, sexual orientation, disability, age or another category
  5. Content related to culturally sensitive issues or political propaganda
  6. Content that promotes smoking
  7. Profanity or inappropriate wordplays/double meanings
  8. Referencing another brand/shop/product to compare or attack their quality or reputation
  9. Prohibited images (in addition to the requirements above):
  10. Images of weapons 
  11. Realistic or excessive depictions of violence, brutality, or scary images
  12. Graphic depictions of body wounds
  13. Sexually suggestive images, including models undressing or wearing suggestive clothing, suggestive poses or positions


Vandalism: Content that promotes anti-social behavior, vandalism, or damaging public/private property


Sexual content: Shopee prohibits the use of Shop Search Ads for products that are sexually explicit in nature, as well that products that claim to "enhance" sex. 

Exception: products that are used in contraception or family planning. Ad taglines for these products must only relate to their contraceptive nature. 


Discrimination & Hate Speech: Content that includes hate speech or promotions of violence/discrimination against any demographic group 


Political Sensitive Issues: Content related to culturally sensitive issues or political propaganda


Promotes Smoking: Content that promotes smoking


Profanity: Profanity or inappropriate wordplays/double meanings


Attacking Competitors: References to another brand/shop/product to compare or attack their quality or reputation
