Ads AI Agent

What is the“Ads AI Agent" feature?

Ads AI Agent is a goal-based managed ads service. Set your advertising goal once (Target ROAS, budget, optional GMV target, special rules), and Ads AI Agent will run your shop’s Product Ads continuously on your behalf: adjusting campaign Target ROAS and budgets, grouping products, and creating or pausing campaigns to grow sales while working toward your Target ROAS. At this stage, Ads AI Agent might occasionally overspend your shop budget by 2-3%, but it will stay within a 5% cap.

What changes for the seller:

Key Benefits of “Ads AI Agent” Feature:

  1. Less Manual Setup, More Optimization
  2. Sellers no longer need to configure ads one by one. AI Agent centrally manages eligible single-product and multi-product ads, creating greater room for optimization.
  3. More Flexible and Granular Goal Management
  4. AI Agent continuously optimizes toward shop-level budgets, ROAS/ROI, and business goals, while supporting differentiated targets for specific products or categories.
  5. Simpler, More Transparent, and Controllable
  6. Once sellers confirm their goals and authorization boundaries, AI Agent manages ads continuously and explains its actions through reports. Sellers can still modify, pause, or exit at any time.

Page View: Classic Mode vs Smart Mode

Classic/Smart is a browsing-mode toggle on the Shopee Ads Homepage for sellers who have (or had) a managed plan. It changes how the seller views and manages ads — it does not change how the plan runs. The plan keeps executing identically in both modes.

How to use the “Ads AI Agent” feature?

A. Feature Entry

  1. Go to Shopee Ads Homepage
  2. The Ads AI Agent module is placed below My Account, Smart Voucher, and Ads Rewards on the Shopee Ads Homepage.
  3. Open the ChatBox

B. Creating a Plan first-time setup

  1. Seller clicks Set up with Ads AI Agent
  2. Agent introduces itself and issues a Set Shop-wide Targets widget, pre-filled with recommended Target ROAS and budget with reasons (based on the shop's recent performance and category benchmarks).
  3. Seller can type naturally
  4. Sellers can give their own numbers, ask whether a number is reasonable, state a GMV goal, add special requirements ("exclude these items", "new products ROAS 10", "don't pause my campaigns during the campaign period").
  5. Every value is validated
  6. Pass (proceed) / Warning (agent explains the risk, seller may keep their value or take the suggestion) / Block (agent explains why it cannot be set and what to change — e.g. budget below the shop's minimum runnable budget).
  7. Nothing is live until the seller reviews the full plan and clicks Confirm & Submit.

C. Campaign Performance Monitoring While the Plan Is Running

The seller supervises through chat — the launch scope covers queries, diagnosis and modifications for the managed plan and Product Ads:

  1. Query: current plan config, modification history, plan progress, spend/ROAS/impression data.
  2.  Explain & diagnose: "why did spend jump yesterday", "why was this item's campaign paused" — the agent explains performance changes and system actions with their reasons.
  3. Modify: any plan field via natural language → widget → confirm. Changes during run take effect immediately after confirmation (or at the scheduled time for promo-period configs).
  4. Advice: "what ROAS should I set for new items", "raise budget or lower ROAS?" — recommendation with reasoning, no write until seller adopts it.
  5.  Ads knowledge QA: general "how does X work" questions.

Important notes:

  1. Ads AI Agent cannot guarantee outcomes.
  2. The agent cannot change the seller's funding arrangement or increase your budget on its own.
  3. While managed, changes should go through the agent (chat), not manual campaign edits.
  4. At this stage, the Agent may occasionally overspend its budget by 2–3%, but it'll stay within a 5% cap.

D. Performance Reports

  1. Weekly report:
  2. Generated by the agent — performance summary, attribution of changes, actions the system took and why, plus suggestions.
  3. Quick entry appears in Smart mode when the report is ready; Seller opens it in the ChatBox.
  4. Daily brief/report: in evaluation as part of the report.

E. Pause, Resume and Exit

  1. Pause
  2. Sellers can pause or exit the managed service anytime in chat. The agent may suggest an option first, such as a lower budget. If you still want to pause, it pauses right away.
  3. After pause
  4. Existing campaigns keep running with the last-applied settings; the agent just stops adjusting. Nothing is deleted.
  5. A stopped plan can be resumed as-is, or edited first and then restarted ("Save & Start").

How Ads AI Agent Differs from Shop GMV Max

  1. Shop GMV Max is a campaign-type product: one shop-level multi-product campaign that auto-optimizes inside its own scope.
  2. Ads AI Agent is a shop-level managed service that operates the seller's whole Product Ads account.
  3. Shop GMV Max is one of the tools it can use, not a competitor product side by side.

Q&A

1. Key Metrics for Setting

2. Actions of AI Agent

Once activated, the system possesses the capability to execute shop-wide management in the following areas:

  1. Adjusting budgets
  2. Adjusting target ROAS
  3. Creating or pausing ad campaigns
  4. Managing the scope of products included in the managed service
  5. Executing actions such as adjusting, maintaining, pausing, or restarting campaigns based on product and ad performance
  6. Applying differentiated management strategies for different products or product groups
  7. Summarizing periodic performance, key actions taken, and strategic directions for the next phase

You may also set constraints for specific products—such as excluding certain items, applying unique requirements to priority items, or restricting the system from performing specific actions on particular product types. The system will operate within these product-level boundaries.

In-chat discussions, recommendations, and drafts will not directly modify your active ads. Only a plan you confirm changes your ads.

3. Actions for Special Needs

A shop can currently set up to 3 customized rules simultaneously, which includes "Excluded Products" configurations. To ensure the system effectively manages overall shop advertising, excluded products may not exceed 20% of total eligible products.

4. How to Continuously Optimize

Ads AI Agent is not a “set-and-forget” feature. It works in a continuous loop of “Observe – Adjust – Verify – Review.

The system typically applies gradual adjustments and leaves observation windows for post-adjustment performance, avoiding unnecessary volatility caused by frequent or big modifications across multiple settings.

5. Cowork with Existing Ad Features

  1. Upon enabling Ads Assistant, Campaign Surge, ABI, and Rapid Boost will be temporarily disabled to prevent multiple automation engines from simultaneously optimizing the same ad accounts.
  2. Once you disable Ads Assistant, these features will automatically resume.
  3. If you upgrade from Shop GMV Max (Shop GMV Max) to Ads Assistant, the system can pre-fill options using your existing Shop GMV Max parameters. You must still review final budgets, target ROAS, and product scopes on the confirmation page. Once approved, execution follows the final confirmed plan.

6. What Can Sellers View and Manage

During the managed period, sellers can:

  1. View current target ROAS, budget, product scope, and management status
  2. View key system actions along with their underlying reasons
  3. Track core metrics including impressions, GMV, ad spend, and ROAS
  4. Access periodic performance summaries, risk alerts, and next-phase management directions
  5. Modify targets, budgets, product scopes, or special operational requirements
  6. Pause, resume, or terminate the managed service

When critical modifications involving budget, target ROAS, or product scope occur, the system will first display the expected impact and only apply changes upon the confirmation.

7. ROAS Protection Still Works with Ads AI Agent

  1. Eligible campaigns managed by Ads AI Agent keep their existing ROAS Protection status. Optimizations made by Ads AI Agent do not count toward the manual edit limits that affect ROAS Protection eligibility. Eligibility, coverage, and terms follow existing platform policy.
